ok, new post!

I am sitting on my bed in halls, my door propped open with a shoe box to let the smoke out. I'm watching Ghost World on tape on my TV and appreciating how quiet my flat is. My flatmate lent me a packet of Pall Mall and now my throat hurts. I have my first exam tomorrow morning. FYI tomorrow is a saturday. I was not impressed when I discovered my first exam was nine AM on a saturday. Jeez. I was also similarly unimpressed by my D I got for an art history essay. Oh me oh my o. Art history is turning out to be far more work than I ever expected. On the plus...the exam and the essays for last term count for 50% of my overall grade this year...and as long as a I keep getting Ds, or even an F or two then some Cs or Bs even, then my overall grade will still be a pass. All I need to do is pass. When it gets to proper lectures I will start to work harder - turn up to all art history lectures for one. History of art is memorable when you turn up and see the slides and everything. If you pick up the lecture notes on the sly and ask your friends what you missed you learn nothing. That is big lesson one from first term. Oh well, I will do better this year I hope. work harder, try better.

Ghost World is such a great film, I've watched it a bzillion times. Rory brought a dvd player and surround sound, Woody brought a HUGE TV and we have a great living room now. People are turning up in dribs and drabs and it's nice seeing everyone.

Went out with Dad and Steve and Steve's son Adam last night, when I got home I realised there was a two hour period of empty flat and then the clubs would close and the house would get noisy with drunk people. So I stayed up watching the Godfather and eating potato :-) when the guys got back we hugged and chatted and it was really nice. Ebany helped me revise for a coupla hours today but it was all too much like boring. We gave up. She will so do better than me in this exam. SIGH.

Anyhoo, christmas was lovely, christmas day with my Godmother, boxing day with Cat and Dad (faaaaaaaaaaaaaabulous food, thankyou caterina!) and it was cool to see my lovely friends - two 21st birthdays (Ellie and Jason). My 21st is coming up...I'm strangely excited... :-)
